1. Research and Development

The focus of R&D at RBR is the development of new products for monitoring of the environment with a special interest in freshwater, marine sciences and the cryosphere.  We are always interested to hear about new proposals for instruments which use the core technology presented in these web pages.  If you have an application in mind, please do not hesitate to drop us a line at info@rbr-global.com

Examples of specialised R&D instruments which have included collaboration from RBR may be found on other pages.  These include instruments for long term hydrogeology research and geophysical surveying.

For R&D enquiries please e-mail: info@rbr-global.com

Freshwater and Marine Research: An example of our custom freshwater and marine logger is the XR-420/620. The XR-420/620 can have up to 6 sensors in the standard pressure case, or up to 11 channels in the expanded pressure case.  Let us know your specific sensor requirements and we can provide you with a quote. We will also install virtually any sensor of your choice. Some sensor manufacturers we have used in the past include: Oxyguard, D&A, Seapoint, WETLabs, YSI, Chelsea, Licor and Paroscientific. See a list of typical (though not exclusive) third party sensor companies.

Cryospheric Research: we offer custom thermistor strings to virtually any length. We can supply them for the standard marine temperature range and for extended ranges. We also can accommodate customer-selected thermistors. Our multi-channel temperature loggers (XR-420 T24) are currently in use in glaciers, permafrost, and soil as well as in lakes and oceans for internal wave studies. Our single-channel TR-1060 is also available in extended ranges and has been used in arrays for such monitoring.
