RBR makes a splash with its new CT and CTD data loggers

Ottawa, Ontario (May 25th, 2012) - RBR Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of its latest CT and CTD data loggers, the RBRduo C.T and the RBRconcerto C.T.D. Built through years of experience and innovation, these loggers have been designed to provide users with improved long term reliability and usability.

CT and CTD loggers are the essential tools for any oceanographer charged with measuring water quality. As fluctuations in the ocean’s global water cycle can impact ecological factors and climate changes, monitoring salinity in the ocean is of critical concern. With pin-point precision, RBR’s loggers capture the most minute changes in salinity and temperature which can have extensive impacts on the density and stability of ocean waters.

RBR's compact, autonomous, CT and CTD loggers measure conductivity, temperature, and pressure (depth) with exceptional accuracy even in the harshest of conditions with long deployment times. The loggers provide users with a more robust and reliable product, along with the following additional features:

  • Low drift
  • High accuracy
  • USB speed download
  • Improved electronic architecture
  • 16 times faster download speed
  • Additional battery pack for longer deployment times
  • 12 times more memory than previous XR and XRX versions

The CT and CTD loggers can operate in 740m (plastic case) or 1000m (titanium case) of water, record over 30 million readings, and deploy for over 5 years on one set of batteries at 1 minute sampling intervals. Available in a standard or extended body, they offer more power than previous models; with a USB interface that can quickly download datasets to Matlab®, Excel®, Ocean Data View® or text files to support and expedite data-processing with external algorithms.
